Don't mend what isn't broken

In a previouse life I worked on a tropical island in a fairly high pressure sales environment. It didn't feel that high pressure because I found it easy to do the way i do what I do. Every morning our boss would have a big chat to us about how well some of us were doing and why some high flyers were suddenly skimming the ground going nowhere fast.

He would say time and time again to these people. "What have you stopped doing that you were doing before"?

We all do it, me included. If we get good at something we get bored with it or fancy a change. A famouse comedian called Tommy Cooper had an act that he took on TV for years and on stage. It wasn't until after he died and repeats were shown on TV that anyone realised that his act never ever changed. He would have long gaps between appearances on TV so nobody noticed but everyone that new him new that his act was like crystal glass. Always shining but always the same.

i had a quiet patch a month or so back. I stopped producing so to speak. My old mentor came back to me. "What had I stopped doing"? I new straight away and set back on track and now I am producing again. As they say "If it ain't broke don't fix it".
