There is an old saying."If you want to get ahead. Get a hat" These days if you want to get ahead you need an education. Education doesn't come cheap. University for the lucky ones a the college of hard knocks and life for the rest of us.
Me and my father before me both learned trades. The same one as it happens. I had a full apprenticeship and I always thought he had had one too after the second world war ended in London. I lerned many years later that he had training which put him in good stead but because of the expense he had never had the formal certificates so in theory I ended up out qualifying him. He was a proud man and I think he probably resented that. I have never been satisfied with doing one thing and have done lots of diverse things which is why I think I am such a good netwrker. I know lots of people from many back grounds , many countries. Networking for me is a gift. I never learned it. God given one might say.
Working on line. That hasn't been in my gift. I have had to learn that and I still am. I probably have a long way to go but I have been fortunate. The harder I looked for the business, the more elusive it became. The networking was easy and as a result I now have both. Learning to maximise what I already have and to listen and learn from those around me. It hasn't been cheap but I am still here. This week has seen a turning point. I know a few millionares. I asked one, many years ago, "how hard was it to make the first million"? His answer surprised me. A million is easy. The first £1000 was the hardest
I also think networking is a skill that has to be learned and practised to perfection which means it can't be done automatically.
For what it is worth there are statistics in all types of marketing. Stats never lie. You get in touch with 100 people and you should get 10 replies and 2 customers. The same stats applied in the 1930s that stack up today. So the companies that set up programmes know how may people will achieve and how many won't and as a result it is the ones that give up who pay the ones that don't. But in order to not quit you need to be getting paid which means you need people in your team who don't quit. So how can that work?
It does for those who know how to network. But for those who don't help is at hand.

A year ago a loaf of bread in England was 32 pence. It is now £1 32 pence. Wages haven' gone up but prices have. The buying power of money is being eroded.. It always has been a little bit each year, and the main cause of it is the printing of money. All governments do it so there is nowhere to go where it doesn't go on but recently it has become more of a problem due to the economic situation throughout the world.
Cash money whether it is in your pocket or in your bank or pension plan or cmpensation plan is being devalued as I write this blog. Europe, the USA, the UK and many other countries are all printing money day and night.
